- Corrugated
Board or Corrugated Fiberboard

structure formed by gluing one or more sheets of
fluted corrugated medium to one or more flatfacings
of lineboard.
There are four common types:
|
 |
| |
Single
Face: Combination
of one fluted corrugated medium glued to one flat
facing of lineboard.
|
|
| |
Single
Wall:
Two flat facings of lineboard, one glued to each
side of corrugated sheet. Also known as double face.
|
|
| |
Double
Wall: Three
flat facings of lineboard, with two interleaved and
glued corrugated mediums.
|
|
| |
Triple
Wall: Four flat facings of
lineboard, with three interleaved and corrugated
mediums.

- Corrugated
Medium: A
sheet of corrugating material that has been softened
with steam and pressed into the wave shape known as
flutes.
|
 |
| |
- Corrugating
Material or Corrugating Medium: The
type of paperboard used in forming the fluted
portion of corrugated board.

- Flute
(or Corrugation) Direction: The
normal direction of flutes is parallel to the depth
of the box, so that they are vertical when the box
is stacked for shipment. In end opening and
wrap-around box styles, the flute direction may be
parallel to the length and width, resulting in a
"horizontal corrugation box".
